SYA News – Correction Policy
SYA News (hereinafter referred to as “SYA News” / “We” / “Us” / “Our”) informs you through this Correction Policy about the corrective measures we take if any inaccurate information is published on our platform. We are accountable to our readers and take full responsibility for making necessary corrections as quickly as possible while keeping you informed.
Our Commitment
We are committed to providing our readers with accurate and comprehensive news reports based on the available information at the time of reporting. If we find any errors in our published content, we take immediate action to correct them. As a digital platform, we issue corrections and clarifications through our social media handles or an Editor’s Note, explaining the changes made and the reason behind them. If a major error occurs that could lead to misinformation, we take full responsibility and issue a sincere apology to our readers.
Updating a Report
Whenever a report is updated, we make sure to clearly indicate it. If we make a significant correction, add new comments from a stakeholder, or revise a story, we use “Correction,” “Clarification,” or “Editor’s Note” to inform readers.
If any factual error is found in our fact-check (which is conducted as per our Fact-Check Policy), we update the article accordingly. At the top of the article, we mention in bold “[Correction: Updated Info…]” and provide an explanation of the correction.
We encourage our readers to report any errors by emailing us at editor [email protected] or using the “Suggest A Correction” option available at the end of every article.
Corrections
If we make substantial corrections to an article, photo caption, headline, graphic, video, or any other material, we promptly publish a correction and provide an explanation for the change.
Clarifications
Sometimes, our reporting is factually accurate, but the language used may require further clarification for better understanding. In such cases, we rewrite the relevant section and add a clarification note to ensure transparency.
If we initially failed to include a response from a concerned party and later receive it, we update the story and acknowledge the addition with a clarification.
Editor’s Notes
If an error significantly impacts the integrity of an article or presents an ethical concern, we issue an Editor’s Note explaining the issue. This decision is reviewed and approved by a senior editor.
Additional Correction Policies
- If an error is pointed out by a reader in the comment section, our community engagement team may confirm in the comments that the correction has been made.
- If we publish incorrect information on social media, we correct it on the same platform. If editing is not possible, we retract the incorrect post.
- We do not attribute errors to individual reporters or editors (e.g., “due to a reporting error” or “due to an editing error”).
Reporting Inaccuracies
If you believe an article we have published contains inaccuracies, please use the “Suggest A Correction” option at the end of every story. Alternatively, you can email us directly at [email protected].
Take-Down Requests
As a matter of editorial policy, we do not entertain take-down requests. If a subject claims that an article is inaccurate, we are willing to investigate and publish a correction if necessary.
However, if fairness demands an update or follow-up on our previous coverage, we consider editorial action, but we do not remove articles as if they were never published.
If we publish publicly available personal data, we only review takedown requests if the individual involved faces a credible physical threat due to the existence of such material.
AI-Powered Content Modifications
We utilize AI tools (such as ChatGPT, Google Gemini, and others) to enhance and refine our content. If any information in our articles needs correction, please provide the necessary details, and we will update it immediately. You can send correction details along with the article link to [email protected].
This policy ensures transparency and accountability while maintaining the trust of our readers.
