Government of Sikkim
The Government of Sikkim is pleased to create a full-fledged Department of Sports & Youth Affairs with effect from 10th April 1995. The State Government is giving priority to Sports, Games, and Youth Activities in Sikkim State to make our youth physically fit, mentally sound, emotionally, and socially well-adjusted citizens. The basic objective of the Department of Sports & Youth Affairs is to facilitate the development of Games, Sports and Youth Activities, creation of necessary sports infrastructure required for sports person for proper grooming, nurturing and channelizing the youth potential for higher achievement and contributing for human resource development of Sikkim state and becoming an asset of the society.
